Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hiab Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles. This role involves transporting goods safely and efficiently to various destinations while adhering to all road safety regulations. A strong commitment to customer service and the ability to manage time effectively are essential for success in this position.
Duties
- Operate flatbed lorries and Hiab to deliver goods to designated locations.
- Ensure all deliveries are made in a timely manner while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload cargo, securing it properly for safe transport.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel usage.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Handle any issues that may arise during transport, such as vehicle breakdowns or route changes.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role within commercial driving.
- Familiarity with flatbed lorry operations and safety protocols.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- A valid commercial driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
