Ipswich Road Pharmacy, 117f Ipswich Rd, Norwich NR4 6LD is looking for an enthusiastic and patient-focused pharmacist to join our growing independent community pharmacy in Norwich.
This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist who enjoys community pharmacy, wants to deliver high-quality patient care and is interested in developing a broad range of NHS and private clinical services.
We are looking for someone who can work confidently as the Responsible Pharmacist, support the pharmacy team and help us continue improving the services we provide to our local community.
Main responsibilities
- Carry out Responsible Pharmacist duties and ensure the safe and effective running of the pharmacy.
- Clinically check prescriptions and support the accurate and timely supply of medicines.
- Provide professional advice to patients and respond appropriately to clinical queries.
- Deliver NHS Pharmacy First consultations.
- Provide New Medicine Service consultations.
- Deliver the NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service.
- Deliver the NHS Hypertension Case-Finding Service.
- Provide vaccination and other clinical services where appropriately trained.
- Support the development of NHS and private pharmacy services.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and follow relevant SOPs, professional standards and legal requirements.
- Supervise, support and develop pharmacy team members.
- Communicate effectively with GP practices and other healthcare professionals.
- Help the pharmacy achieve its clinical service, quality and operational objectives.
Essential requirements
- Registered as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Strong clinical knowledge and professional judgement.
- Good communication and patient consultation skills.
- Able to work effectively as part of a pharmacy team.
- Reliable, organised and committed to providing excellent patient care.
- Able to work independently and take responsibility for the safe operation of the pharmacy.
Desirable experience
- Previous UK community pharmacy experience.
- Experience delivering Pharmacy First, NMS and other NHS clinical services.
- Vaccination training.
- Supervisory or pharmacy management experience.
- Independent Prescriber qualification or an interest in completing the qualification.
- An interest in developing new NHS and private pharmacy services.
Skilled Worker visa sponsorship may be available for a suitable applicant.
Applicants requiring sponsorship must be registered with the GPhC, or be able to complete their GPhC registration before commencing employment, and must meet all applicable immigration and sponsorship requirements.
