Job Summary
Gio's Restaurant is looking for a talented, passionate, and reliable Chef de Partie to join our kitchen
team. This role is ideal for a chef who enjoys working with fresh ingredients, thrives in a busy
service environment, and is committed to producing high-quality dishes. You will be responsible for
running your own section, maintaining exceptional food standards, and supporting the wider kitchen
team to deliver an outstanding dining experience.
As a Chef de Partie, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of our kitchen, ensuring
every dish is prepared and presented to the highest standards. You will work closely with the Head
Chef and Sous Chef to deliver consistently excellent food while maintaining the highest levels of
food safety, cleanliness, and organisation.
The successful candidate will be passionate about fresh food, take pride in their work, and remain
calm and organised under pressure. You will be expected to work efficiently in a fast-paced
environment, support junior members of the kitchen team, and contribute positively to a
professional and supportive workplace.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the highest standard in line with Gio's Restaurant recipes
and specifications.
Take responsibility for the smooth running of your designated section during service.
Ensure all food is consistently prepared, cooked, and presented to company standards.
Maintain strict portion control and minimise food waste while ensuring excellent quality.
Follow all food hygiene, HACCP, allergen, and health & safety procedures.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment at all times.
Assist with stock control, stock rotation, deliveries, and reporting stock shortages.
Ensure ingredients are stored correctly and rotated.
Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations.
Train and support Commis Chefs and Kitchen Assistants.
Operate equipment safely and report faults.
Work efficiently under pressure with attention to detail.
Contribute ideas for specials and menu improvements.
Work collaboratively with the front-of-house team.
Comply with company policies and procedures.
Lead by example with professionalism and teamwork.
Essential Requirements
Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or experienced Commis Chef.
Strong knowledge of fresh food preparation and presentation.
Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate (minimum).
Understanding of HACCP, allergen management and food safety legislation.
Excellent organisational, communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Reliable, punctual and flexible.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
Level 3 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate.
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent).
Experience in a busy restaurant environment.
Experience supervising junior chefs.
Knowledge of stock management and food cost control.
Passion for Italian cuisine and fresh ingredients.
