During your apprenticeship you will learn the theory as well as gain the hands-on experience you need to become an Electrical Craftsperson.
Your role will be to prevent and react to breakdowns in and around the plant. No two days will be the same. Your first job however, is to learn and take in all the knowledge and skills that your lecturers, mentors and coach/instructors give you.
About you
We are looking for an apprentice to join us as a first year apprentice. The apprenticeship will last 4 years.
To join us as a first year apprentice, you will need a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade B or above (you must have a B or above in Maths and English, plus 2 other subjects)
In your first year, you will attend Pencoed College on a full-time basis.
We are looking for someone passionate about Engineering. You’ll also need to be enthusiastic, mature and motivated to learn. If you have already achieved Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations, or a Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification, that would be an advantage.
About the Apprenticeship
Throughout the apprenticeship, you will combine learning both theoretical and practical Engineering skills. At the end of the apprenticeship you’ll be competent and qualified in Electrical Engineering Maintenance and would have gained the below qualifications:
· NVQ Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations
· VRQ Level 3 Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical)
· NVQ Level 3 Engineering Maintenance
· Essential Skills at Level 2
You will be taught about and will get to work on some of the largest pieces of kit and machinery in the industry.
