Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our newly opened daycare & nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, a passion for early childhood education, and experience working with children. This role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children while maintaining high standards of childcare and organisational efficiency. The Nursery Manager will also be responsible for supervising staff, liaising with parents, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage the overall daily operations of the nursery, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning
- Lead and motivate staff to deliver high-quality childcare and early childhood education programmes
- Develop, implement, and review educational activities that promote children's development
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children and staff
- Oversee staff recruitment, training, supervision, and performance appraisals
- Build strong relationships with parents and guardians to support children's individual needs
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and nursery policies
- Organise staff rotas and manage resource allocation effectively
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and other administrative duties
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance nursery standards
Qualifications
- Proven management experience within a childcare or nursery setting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team
- Extensive experience working with children in early childhood education or childcare roles
- Knowledge of nursery regulations, health & safety standards, and safeguarding procedures
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred
- Valid driving licence is desirable for operational flexibility
- Passionate about child development with a caring and nurturing approach
- Organised with excellent organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
