Street Cleansing Driver Operative
Location: Farnham, Surrey, GU9 9PZ
Hours: Monday to Friday, 5:00am – 2:30pm
Weekly Hours: 45 hours per week
Pay Rate: £13.94 per hour
Overtime: Paid at time and a half
About the Role
We are recruiting for a Street Cleansing Driver Operative to support the maintenance of clean, safe, and well-presented public environments across allocated areas.
You will be responsible for driving a company vehicle and carrying out street cleansing duties to the required standards and frequencies. This includes litter picking, sweeping, bin servicing, and removal of fly-tipped waste.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive allocated vehicles safely to assigned cleansing routes
- Carry out manual sweeping and litter picking of streets and public areas
- Empty and service litter bins and dog waste bins
- Remove fly-tipped waste and environmental hazards
- Operate street cleansing equipment such as sweepers and pressure washers (where trained)
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism
- Work as part of a team to complete daily routes efficiently
- Report hazards, damage, or environmental issues
Requirements
- Minimum age: 25 years old (for insurance purposes)
- Full UK Driving Licence (Category B required)
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual, active work
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious approach
- Ability to take pride in maintaining clean public spaces
- Previous experience in street cleansing or environmental services is beneficial but not essential
Training & Development
Full induction, training, and assessment will be provided.
