The role

London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting for the post of Course Support & Enquiry Supervisor within our Student Operations Department.
This department engages in various academic collaborative activities at a variety of levels and stages. The team have a strategic, proactive, user-focused, and fully integrated approach to student operations. It provides central support for students throughout their time at the University from admission through to graduation and to manage and develop a range of operations and systems which are key to the overall functioning of the Registrar’s Department.
This position will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to effectively supervise the day-to-day delivery of an effective and efficient service supporting course management including student enquiries and information, record maintenance as well as welcome and induction activities.
The postholder will coordinate the team to be the “face” of Student Administration providing a one stop service wherever possible by responding to students’ enquiries, working with other Student Administration teams and Professional Service Departments to ensure all queries are answered in a timely manner.
The postholder will support and facilitate good communication between stakeholders, often dealing with sensitive and confidential matters in a time pressured environment, providing accurate information relating to all areas of course administration, interruptions and withdrawals.
The postholder will line manage a number of Course Support & Enquiry Officers, assisting with their recruitment, inductions, conducting appraisals, one to ones, mentoring, training and staff development. The postholder will be responsible for the allocation of their workload and approval of leave.
What you will bring
The ideal candidate will:

Have practical administration experience working in a higher education setting, supporting and resolving students concerns both face to face and online.
- Experience of supervising team members to achieve common goals, experience of day-to-day allocation of workload and re-allocation of resources to ensure business continuity.
- Experience of maintaining accurate records and the use of IT systems/software to gather and evaluate data and providing regular reports to key stakeholders, such as Schools, Student Services and Professional Service Departments.
- Experience of developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders, such as Schools, Student Services and other key stakeholders across the University.
- To be able to use own initiative to plan, prioritise and organise own varied workload, in a timely manner, to approach challenges/problems in a flexible, creative and proactive way.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills and to cope with high volumes of work and support team members during stressful periods in the academic year in a calm and efficient manner.
