Our junior staff play a vital role in the practice and are viewed as our solicitors of the future. We therefore believe in providing a role which is varied, client facing and which offers you the opportunity to show your talents from the outset.
This is a role within our civil and private client teams, which means that you will have the opportunity to work across various areas of law including clinical negligence, property, disputes, wills, family, estates and corporate/commercial. In addition you may also have to assist other teams as required.
We are a firm that deals with complex and demanding work, recent key cases include:
- Various clinical negligence settlements between £14m and £26m
- A £2m shareholder dispute and unjust enrichment claims
- The acquisition and disposition of central London restaurant chain valued in excess of £2m
- Declarations before the court in relation to the status of a Will along with an injunction of the estate pending determination of issues with assets in excess of £1m
- Landlord and Tenant disputes involving various injunctive order and determination proceedings
- Successful defence of a PG Claim for over £2.7m
Responsibilities
- Assist lawyers in preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings by gathering relevant information and documentation.
- Preparing bundles for trials and instructions to experts and counsel.
- Filing documents/correspondence at Court including online Court systems such as CE-File.
- Undertake own advocacy in possession cases and interim applications.
- Conduct legal research to support case preparation and provide insights on legal precedents.
- Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, expert reports, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Maintain and organise case files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Collaborate with IT to ensure that all office technology is functioning correctly and assist with troubleshooting when necessary.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe or similar pdf software.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Effective time management skills to meet deadlines consistently.
- A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in all documentation.
- A self-starter, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ideally, you will have at least one year of solid and relatable civil experience – preferably in litigation or private client environment.
