About the Role
As Logistics Manager, you will have both strategic and operational responsibility for the efficient movement, storage and distribution of goods.
You will work closely with senior management, warehouse teams, suppliers, carriers and third-party logistics providers to ensure that our operations remain efficient, cost-effective and capable of meeting customer and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Supply Chain
- Plan and manage day-to-day logistics and distribution operations.
- Coordinate the movement of goods from suppliers through warehousing to final delivery.
- Develop and improve logistics processes and operating procedures.
- Coordinate warehouse teams, carriers, suppliers and logistics partners.
- Identify operational risks and implement appropriate solutions.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Oversee the receipt, storage, handling and distribution of inventory.
- Monitor stock levels and inventory availability.
- Manage stock movements and storage allocation.
- Maintain effective inventory control procedures.
- Coordinate stock audits and investigate inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure appropriate availability of pallets, packaging and operational supplies.
Order Fulfilment & Distribution
- Oversee the timely processing, picking, packing and dispatch of customer orders.
- Ensure orders are processed within agreed customer and marketplace service levels.
- Monitor dispatch performance and daily operational cut-off times.
- Identify and resolve fulfilment delays and bottlenecks.
- Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to maintain reliable delivery performance.
Transportation Management
- Coordinate transportation requirements with carriers and logistics providers.
- Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for savings.
- Review carrier performance and service levels.
- Develop efficient routing and delivery strategies.
- Resolve recurring transportation and delivery issues.
Supplier & Third-Party Management
- Coordinate supplier deliveries and operational requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance.
- Maintain effective relationships with carriers and third-party logistics providers.
- Resolve operational issues with external service providers.
- Support the evaluation and selection of logistics partners.
Team Management
- Supervise and coordinate warehouse and logistics personnel.
- Allocate resources according to operational requirements.
- Monitor productivity and operational performance.
- Train and support employees in logistics best practices.
- Promote a professional, productive and safe working environment.
Cost Control & Continuous Improvement
- Review logistics processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop strategies to reduce unnecessary operational costs.
- Improve warehouse productivity and resource utilisation.
- Monitor labour, transportation and storage costs.
- Establish and monitor operational KPIs.
- Use data and technology to improve logistics performance.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, warehousing or distribution management.
- Experience managing logistics or warehouse operations.
- Strong understanding of inventory management and order fulfilment.
- Experience working with carriers, suppliers and third-party logistics providers.
- Good understanding of transportation and logistics cost management.
- Experience supervising and developing operational teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to operational deadlines.
- A commercially focused approach to improving efficiency and reducing costs.
- Good IT skills and the ability to work with operational data and management systems.
