We are seeking an experienced Cook/Chef to join our small kitchen team here at our very busy Cafe 'The Gardeners Rest' situated in Bridgend Garden Centre in Freuchie, Fife.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced open kitchen environment, showcasing culinary expertise and creativity. 8 Hour shifts 9-5 Summer hours 9-4 Winter hours.
5 Days out of 7 working every alternate weekend.
Rate of pay exceeds minimum wage.
Duties:
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes following standard recipes
- Oversee food preparation, ensuring freshness and quality
- Manage kitchen operations efficiently
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain a clean and organised workspace
- Assist in menu planning and development
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a Restaurant/Cafe setting
- Proficient in food preparation techniques and culinary skills
- Knowledge of kitchen operations and equipment
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Understanding of food safety regulations and practices
