We are looking for 2 full time support workers to join our team in two separate locations, Winlaton and Rowlands Gill.
The position in Winlaton is a "move on service" this is usually a temporary home for up to about 2 years, we support with up skilling, finding employment or education and anything else the person needs, the home is splint in to 2 two bed bungalows and there are an additional 2 flats where people have long term tenancies. we support people who have learning disabilities, mental health needs, Autism and health conditions such as epilepsy
The position in Rowlands Gill is an independent living service where two young males live, they both enjoy being busy and active but equally like to have time to "chill" they both attend education 4 days per week
Duties
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, promoting their mental well-being.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health or behaviour.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any concerns to the relevant healthcare professionals.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties when necessary.
- Engage clients in social activities that promote interaction and mental stimulation.
Skills
- Proven experience in patient care or a related field is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of home care practices and senior care principles is beneficial.
- Familiarity with trauma informed practice is an asset.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively when assisting clients.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a patient and empathetic approach to client interactions.
- Basic first aid knowledge is preferred to ensure client safety in emergencies.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to maintain clear documentation and liaise with other professionals.
