Main purpose of job: Dietl is seeking experienced HGV Drivers & Fine Art Technicians to join our team at our Hayes, Middlesex location. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe handling, packing, transportation, and installation of valuable artworks, including paintings, sculptures, antiquities, textiles, and contemporary installations. You will work with a wide range of clients including leading galleries, museums, private collectors, and artists, ensuring artworks are handled and transported with the highest level of care and professionalism. The role also involves completing detailed condition reporting, secure storage procedures, and professional installation services, alongside the safe operation of HGV vehicles in line with all road safety regulations.

Safely handle, transport, and install a wide variety of artworks, including paintings, sculptures, and other delicate items, following strict handling protocols.
Assist with the careful packing and crating of artworks to ensure maximum protection during transportation.
Support the installation and de-installation of artworks at various locations, including museums, galleries, exhibitions, and private collections.
Conduct detailed condition reporting before and after transportation to ensure artworks are preserved and documented appropriately.
Carry out pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure HGV vehicles are maintained in safe working condition.
Maintain accurate transportation logs and documentation, ensuring all paperwork is completed correctly.
Adhere to all legal driving requirements, including tachograph regulations and driver working hours.
Work closely with colleagues, clients, and art professionals to ensure the smooth delivery of art logistics projects.
Follow appropriate preservation and handling techniques to safeguard delicate or high-value artworks Skills and Experience
Previous experience working as a Fine Art Technician, Art Handler, or in a similar role within the art logistics industry.
Valid HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence with an up-to-date CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
Strong knowledge and experience handling a variety of artworks including paintings, sculptures, antiques, and contemporary installations.
Excellent attention to detail and a careful, methodical approach to handling valuable items.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of care and professionalism.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy artworks and equipment, working in varied environments including tight spaces or at height.
Familiarity with industry-standard tools and equipment used in art handling and transportation. Essential / Preferred Requirements
