Welcome to Hatchet Harry’s.
Hatchet Harry’s is Liverpool’s high-adrenaline entertainment venue and one of the last axe throwing specialists, who still offer full tutoring during the experiences. We offer our axe throwing experiences, rage room experiences, and also have a bar available throughout.
We are looking for high-energy, resilient, and multi-talented instructors to host unforgettable experiences, keep our venue in prime condition, and train the participants so they can make the most of their sessions.
What the Role Actually Looks Like:
This isn't a job where you sit around bored; You’ll be wearing multiple hats throughout your shift:
- Experience Host: You’ll be hosting on the main floor. From welcoming larger corporate groups, stags, and hens, to delivering health and safety briefings and coaching guests to hit the perfect bullseye or trick shot.
- Bar & Sales: You’ll keep the participants fuelled up with drinks and snacks, manage stock, and use your charm to upsell extra drinks, merch, or extended session times.
- Maintenance & Cleaning: This is a highly physical role. When you aren't hosting, you’ll be changing wooden lane boards and painting them, organising stock for the Rage Room, and deep-cleaning the venue so it looks immaculate for the next session(s).
We can teach almost anyone how to throw an axe, so don't worry if you’ve never picked one up before. The harder part to teach is attitude. We need someone who is:
- Loud and Energetic: When the music gets turned up, your energy needs to match it. You know how to hype up a room of 20 shouting people and keep them excited.
- Customer Service Ready: You genuinely love interacting with people and can turn a nervous first-timer into a confident axe-thrower.
- Physically Fit & Resilient: You’re happy to roll up your sleeves, lift heavy objects when needed, use tools, and get your hands dirty with daily maintenance and cleaning.
- Unrivalled in Flexibility: Our peak times are out of the usual office hours. You must be willing to work late nights and weekends, and commit to dedicated on-call shifts to cover last-minute bookings.
- Confident: From giving people sharp objects and reassuring them, to being able to help prepare the venue for the next day at the end of the night; we need you to know what your abilities are and where you can be trusted.
What’s In It For You?
- A completely unique working environment.
- Full comprehensive training on axe-throwing coaching and lane safety.
- Tips on top of your hourly rate for delivering world-class service.
- The chance to master trick shots, kill shots, and show off your skills daily.
- A tight-knit team environment.
- Free axe throwing in your spare time, along with discounted rage room sessions and friends/family discount on all experiences and merch.
- The chance to get paid to partake in the activities for promotional content. We have had our team throw some axes, have head-to-head competitions, and even destroy some stuff in the rage room to help us get the right shot.
- Staff events with competitions, food, games, and more.
How to Apply (Read Carefully!) CRITICAL STEP: To apply, you must include a cover letter explaining exactly why you want this job and why you’d be great at it. If you do not include a covering letter, we will assume you didn't read this far, and your application will be instantly rejected. Attention to detail is everything to us!
