Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Transport Manager specializing in Man & Van operations and overall transport logistics. Duties
- Manage and supervise the daily operations of man & van transportation services, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Oversee the scheduling, routing, and dispatching of vehicles using transportation management systems (TMS) and ERP systems to maximize efficiency.
- Monitor driver performance, provide coaching, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Implement process improvements within the transportation workflow to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
- Coordinate with warehouse teams on shipping & receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory control.
- Analyze profit & loss statements related to transport operations to identify opportunities for financial optimization.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, driver logs, and compliance documentation in systems such as AS400 or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in logistics processes, including 3PL partnerships and supply chain enhancements.
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within transportation or logistics environments, with a strong understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage profit & loss accounts effectively while driving cost-saving initiatives.
- Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and AS400 platforms.
- Hands-on experience with shipping & receiving procedures, forklift operation, and warehouse activities.
- Strong process improvement skills with a focus on continuous enhancement of operational workflows.
- Familiarity with 3PL providers, logistics best practices, and supply chain optimization strategies.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with leadership qualities to motivate teams and foster a safety-conscious environment.
- Ability to analyze data for decision-making and implement solutions that improve overall efficiency.
