The Role
We are seeking an experienced Bricklayer to join our expanding site team. The role involves carrying out a wide range of brickwork and blockwork activities on refurbishment and construction projects, often within live or occupied environments.
The successful applicant will be reliable, safety‑conscious, and capable of delivering high‑quality masonry works in accordance with drawings, specifications, and RAMS.
Key Responsibilities
- Brickwork and blockwork to a high standard
- Construction of walls, piers, and structural masonry
- Setting out and working from drawings and specifications
- Making good and repair works to existing masonry
- Working safely with scaffolding, access platforms, and temporary works
- Using hand tools, power tools, and mortars correctly and safely
- Liaising with site management and other trades
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping and site standards
- Complying fully with RAMS and health & safety requirements
Essential Requirements
✅ Minimum 5 years’ experience in bricklaying
✅ NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying (or equivalent)
✅ Valid CSCS card
✅ Strong understanding of construction health & safety
✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
✅ Good attention to detail and workmanship
✅ Professional and reliable attitude
Desirable (but not essential)
- NVQ Level 3 in Bricklaying
- Experience on commercial or structural projects
- Experience working on refurbishment or live sites
- SSSTS or First Aid certification
- Ability to carry out associated making‑good works
