Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and vehicle inspections.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment.
- Repair or replace defective parts and components.
- Carry out engine, transmission, brake, suspension, steering, and exhaust repairs.
- Conduct vehicle safety checks and road tests when required.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and completed work.
- Follow manufacturer specifications and company procedures.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with health and safety regulations.
- Keep the workshop clean, organised, and equipped for efficient operations.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers regarding repair recommendations and vehicle status.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Mechanic or Automotive Technician.
- Relevant automotive qualification or certification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Experience using vehicle diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- A valid driver's licence is preferred.
- MOT Tester certification is an advantage but not essential.
Pay: £35,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
