High Voltage Substation Services (HVSS) Ltd specialises in the design, construction, installation and commissioning of High Voltage Substation Systems up to 400kV. We provide a comprehensive service covering all aspects of high voltage substation civil and electrical construction, from early-stage design through to testing, commissioning, and final handover.
We are seeking a proactive and organised Office Administrator to coordinate the day-to-day smooth running of our Watford head office. This is a varied and hands-on role requiring flexibility, initiative, and a willingness to support across multiple areas of the business.
You will assist the Office Manager, Company Directors, and wider leadership team, supporting tasks ranging from general clerical duties to HR administration, health & safety documentation, data input, and ad-hoc operational support.
This role would suit someone who is adaptable, organised, and comfortable taking ownership of responsibilities in a busy and growing company.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general office duties including data entry, filing, and document organisation
- Manage office supplies and equipment inventory
- Answer and direct phone calls professionally
- Assist with scheduling meetings, appointments, travel and hotel bookings
- Take meeting notes when required
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Support HR and health & safety administration
- Maintain accurate records using systems including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Sage
- Run occasional business errands where required
- Provide administrative support to directors and senior management
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an administrative role
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience using Sage (desirable)
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of general office procedures and systems
- Professional phone manner and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Location & Travel
This role is based at our Watford head office (Orbital 25 Business Park).
Please note:
- There are no direct bus services to the office location
- Nearest train station is Croxley (Metropolitan Line)
- Driving is likely to be the most practical commuting option
