You will have a degree/HND in an IT related subject and/or can demonstrate significant knowledge and experience in the relevant work areas.
You will work as part of the IT Cyber Security team and contribute to the successful delivery of cyber security projects and initiatives. You will participate in the design, implementation, support and continuous improvement of the Council’s cyber security environment. You will play a lead role in the Council’s cyber security services, including analysis, monitoring, support, upgrades, incident response, diagnosis and remediation.
You will have experience of successful delivery of IT and cyber security projects and experience in IT Service Delivery, installation and support of IT Cyber Security Systems. You will have significant knowledge of cyber security principles and technologies, of firewalls and intrusion detection and prevention technologies along with strong experience of investigating and resolving cyber security incidents including threat hunting. Knowledge and experience of cloud security technologies and specifically M365 security tools, policies and configuration along with strong experience of Endpoint security solutions including EDR & XDR and knowledge and experience managing and administering Email security and SSL certificates is essential. You will have strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to develop solutions to complex problems, the ability and willingness to communicate and share information effectively, excellent organisational skills, the ability to work to deadlines and customer liaison skills . You will be willing to work extended hours as required and to contribute to wider Council priorities. A Level 1 Disclosure Scotland check is required.
