We're looking for an experienced Portering, Waste & Logistics Manager to lead a diverse and critical Soft FM operation at Homerton University Hospital, ensuring essential services run seamlessly to support patients, clinical teams, visitors, and colleagues every day. From portering and logistics to waste management, linen distribution and helpdesk services, you'll be at the heart of delivering operational excellence in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Based at Homerton University Hospital, the role will oversee portering, waste, distribution, postal services, linen and uniform management whilst driving performance, compliance, continuous improvement and strong client relationships.

What You'll Do:

Lead the day-to-day delivery of portering, waste, helpdesk, logistics, postal, linen and distribution services across the hospital site.

Drive operational excellence through data-led decision making, KPI management and continuous service improvement initiatives.

Build strong, collaborative relationships with NHS stakeholders and clinical teams to support outstanding service delivery.

Ensure compliance with healthcare, waste management, health & safety and environmental standards.

Lead, coach and inspire a large frontline workforce, creating a positive and high-performing culture.

Oversee workforce planning, rostering and resource management to maintain efficient and effective service provision.

Manage service performance, identify improvement opportunities and implement sustainable solutions.

Champion new ways of working, including recycling and environmental initiatives, helping to create a safer and more sustainable healthcare environment.
What You Bring:
-
Proven experience managing large operational teams within Soft FM, logistics, facilities management or support services.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop and retain high-performing teams.

Experience managing KPIs, service performance and continuous improvement programmes.
-
Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels.

Sound knowledge of health & safety, compliance and relevant operational legislation.

A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

WAMITAB qualification (or equivalent waste management qualification) or the ability to demonstrate significant waste management expertise.

Experience within healthcare, hospital environments, portering services or NHS support services would be highly advantageous.
