Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a sub stantive Consultant in Gynaecology with sub speciali ty accreditation in Fertility and Reproduc t ive Medicine . Th is job will consist of 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week as an annualised contract . The job plan include s on call duties as part of a 1 in 12 - 14 rota for G ynaecology. The successful applicant will be based at the Birmingham Women’s Hospital; they will work primarily in the f ertility team delivering fertility and r eproductive e ndocrine clinics , aspects of Fertility Treatment such as Egg Collection, s urgical s perm r etrieval, e mbryo T r ansfer and u ltrasound s canning and gynaecology operating at unit level.
The successful candidat e will be expected to be aware of local policies and procedures and to comply with the s tanding or ders and s tanding f inancial i nstructions of the Trust . Where the Consultant manages employees of the Trust, they will be expected to observe the local employment and per sonnel policies and procedures.
The Trust will be moving towards 7 day and 3 session working. The successful candidate could be expected to work some evening clinical duties and weekend sessions.
Hours of work are full time with on-call commitments on the Gynaecology Consultant Rota.
The successful candidate will be expected to be aware of local guidelines, policies and procedures and to comply with the Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions of the Trust.
