Waking Nights - Residential Children’s Home - Catford

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Waking Night Residential Support Worker to provide essential care and assistance during overnight hours for Children in a Residential Childrens Home. This role is vital in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of children within a care home setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting children through the night, maintaining a calm environment, and responding promptly to any needs that arise. Experience in care environments, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently are highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in childrens lives while working during night shifts.
Duties
- Monitor children throughout the night to ensure their safety and well-being
- Respond promptly and effectively to any emergencies or urgent needs
- Maintain accurate records of overnight activities and incidents
- Support children with medication reminders or administration as per care plans
- Ensure the environment remains safe, clean, and comfortable at all times
- Liaise with day staff during handovers to communicate relevant information
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to children during the night
- Follow all health and safety protocols diligently, including infection control procedures
- Use IT systems to update records and communicate with team members effectively
Experience
- 2 years experience working within a childrens residential home.
- Must be able to work 3 days days a week -7.30pm-9am.
- Good command of English, both written and verbal, is essential for effective communication
- Excellent IT skills are preferred for recording information accurately and efficiently
- Level 3 in Health & Social Care
- Excellent communication skills are necessary to interact compassionately with residents and team members
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of care
Pay: From £13.00 per hour
