We have an exciting new secretarial opportunity within our Ely branch office.
We're looking for a dynamic Legal secretary preferably with previous experience to join the Residential Conveyancing team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing correspondence, preparing legal documents and ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities. This position offers excellent opportunity for individuals with strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail to contribute to a professional legal environment
Responsibilities
- Drafting, editing and formatting legal documents and correspondence using Microsoft Word and other office programs
- Perform audio typing of dictations and legal proceedings in a timely manner
- Mananging and maintaining case files, records and legal documentation with accuracy and confidentiality
- Organise and maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical, ensuring easy retrieval of documents
- Handing incoming calls, emails and correspondence promptly while maintaining professional communication standards
- Managing adminsitrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, scanning and data entry
- Ensuring effective time management to meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment
- Support the legal team with IT-related tasks as required to ensure smooth workflow
Experience
- Previous administrative experience within a legal or professional service environment is preferred but not essential
- Proven experience in audio typing with high accuracy and speed is desirable
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise confidently with clients and colleagues
- Good IT skills with the ability to adapt to new programs or systems quickly
