Essendene Lodge Nursery is seeking a Deputy Manager for their Baby Room. Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Early Years professional, looking to take their step career? The setting is the free-flow environment, allowing children to explore indoors and outdoors in all weathers and interact with children up to the age of 5. This promotes verbal and communication skills among the children.

About the Role
As Deputy Manager for the Baby Room, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of your room, ensuring high standards of care, learning and development for all children.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the room team and daily nursery activities
- Planning and delivering engaging learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework
- Overseeing observations, assessments and children's learning journeys
- Maintaining a safe, organised and stimulating environment
- Supporting, mentoring and motivating team members
- Building strong relationships with children, parents and carers
- Ensuring safeguarding, health and safety policies are consistently followed
- Contributing to the ongoing development of nursery practice and standards
Essential Requirements
- Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification recognised by the DfE
- Baby Room Experience
- Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
- Previous experience leading a room or mentoring nursery staff
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A warm, positive and professional approach
