We are seeking a proactive and organised Business Services Assistant to support the effective delivery of our service. This is a varied role that plays a vital part in supporting professionals through high-quality administrative support, including attending and servicing meetings, producing accurate minutes, and ensuring actions are progressed in a timely manner.
You will be confident working independently while also contributing positively as a team player. As meetings take place both virtually and in person, flexibility and a willingness to meet service needs, including office attendance across locations is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend professional meetings and panels, providing comprehensive and accurate minute-taking within agreed timescales
- Organise and support meetings, including agenda preparation and action tracking
- Provide effective administrative support to professionals
- Communicate confidently and professionally with colleagues and customers via telephone, email, and written correspondence
- Use Microsoft Office applications to manage information, communication, and documentation efficiently
About You:
You will be able to demonstrate relevant experience gained within a professional office setting. You will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and highly organised, with a strong eye for detail. You will be able to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and customer service.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience working in an office environment, providing administrative support
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service and communicate effectively using a range of methods
- Previous experience of attending professional meetings in a minute-taking capacity and adhering to strict timeframes.
- Experience organising meetings, setting agendas, and tracking follow-up actions

In accordance with the Rotherham Council Working Location Policy, we currently support hybrid working. For full-time staff this is minimum of 3 full working days in an office location, however the needs of the service are always prioritised.
