Job Title: Minibus Driver
Pay: 12.71/hr or Voluntary
Hours: Flexible (typically 4 hours a week, subject to organisational need)
Responsible to: Volunteer & Mentor Coordinator
Accountable to: CEO
Responsible for: Safe transportation of members to and from workshops.
Location: Predominantly based at Medina Valley Centre, and occasionally community locations across the Isle of Wight.
Job Summary
The Minibus Driver plays an important role in supporting members to access Isorropia's wellbeing services. The post holder is responsible for providing safe, reliable and professional transportation to and from workshops, activities and events, helping to remove barriers to participation and improve accessibility.
Alongside driving responsibilities, the role contributes to the upkeep and presentation of the organisation's minibus. The role requires reliability, flexibility, professionalism and a positive approach to supporting both members and colleagues.
1. Member Transport & Accessibility
- Safely transport members to and from workshops, wellbeing activities and organisational events.
- Complete scheduled pick-up and drop-off journeys in a timely and reliable manner.
- Support members to access services with dignity, respect and professionalism.
- Create a welcoming and positive experience for members during transportation.
- Report any concerns regarding member wellbeing, behaviour or safety to senior team members in a timely manner.
- Ensure all driving activities comply with road traffic legislation, organisational policies and vehicle regulations.
2. Vehicle Safety & Maintenance
- Complete routine vehicle safety checks before and after use.
- Monitor the condition of the minibus and identify any maintenance concerns promptly.
- Maintain fuel, oil, coolant, tyre pressure and washer fluid levels.
- Ensure the vehicle always remains roadworthy and compliant.
- Report defects, damage or concerns immediately to Volunteer & Mentor Coordinator.
- Maintain accurate records relating to vehicle checks and maintenance activities.
3. Vehicle Cleanliness & Presentation
- Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming vehicle environment.
- Clean the interior and exterior of the minibus regularly.
- Sanitise high-contact surfaces and maintain appropriate hygiene standards.
- Remove litter and ensure the vehicle remains tidy and presentable.
- Ensure the minibus reflects the professional standards and reputation of Isorropia Foundation.
4. Communication & Team Working
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with members, team members and external contacts.
- Maintain clear communication regarding availability, shifts and operational requirements.
- Escalate concerns, incidents or significant issues promptly.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support service delivery and organisational objectives.
- Contribute positively to team culture and organisational values.
5. Administration & Compliance
- Accurately complete and submit timesheets and required documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection requirements.
- Complete required induction, mandatory training and organisational learning activities.
- Read, understand and follow relevant policies, procedures and risk assessments.
- Maintain compliance with organisational driving, health and safety and safeguarding requirements.
Person Specification
1. Experience & Knowledge
Essential
- Full UK driving licence with D1 entitlement.
- Safe and responsible driving record with no penalty points.
- Basic understanding of vehicle safety and routine checks.
- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and professional conduct.
Desirable
- Experience driving a minibus or similar vehicle.
- Experience working in a customer-facing, community or support role.
- Awareness of safeguarding and health and safety responsibilities.
