About the role:
We’re looking for several skilled, safety-focused Plant Operators to join our Energy from Waste (EfW) facility in Malvern. In this hands-on role, you’ll help keep operations running safely, efficiently and in line with environmental standards, supporting the conversion of waste to energy. This is a great opportunity for someone with plant, process, or industrial operations experience, working in a sector that combines engineering, sustainability, and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities
· Operate plant equipment and machinery safely, including waste treatment units, recycling systems, and loading and unloading equipment.
· Carry out routine inspections, sampling and operational checks to maintain efficient, compliant plant performance.
· Complete production records, operational logs and incident reports accurately, escalating faults or deviations promptly.
· Follow environmental, health and safety requirements, including COSHH, RIDDOR and internal operating procedures.
· Support preventive maintenance, maintain clean and safe work areas, and deliver clear, reliable shift handovers.
What we’re looking for
· Experience operating pumps, valves, forklifts or similar plant machinery in an industrial environment.
· A practical mechanical mindset with the ability to identify, report and respond to equipment faults and operational issues.
· A good understanding of hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling, including segregation, labelling and safe storage practices.
· Confident IT skills, including handheld devices, data entry systems and production tracking software.
· Able to carry out manual handling tasks, including moving drums or containers within safe working limits.
· Comfortable working in an industrial environment with exposure to heat, noise and confined spaces.
· Strong time management skills, with the ability to meet shift targets and adapt to changing priorities.
· A Forklift Truck (FLT) licence is preferred.

· Competitive salary and shift allowance
· Shift pattern: 4 days on / 4 days off, rotating 06:00–18:00 shifts
· Contract: Permanent, shift-based role
