The Role
We are currently recruiting for HGV Class 2 Refuse Collection Vehicle (RCV) Drivers to join our client's growing waste management team.
This role involves collecting commercial waste, general waste and food waste from a variety of business customers, ensuring collections are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard of customer service.
You will be accompanied by a dedicated Loader, however this is a physically active role and drivers are expected to assist with loading and collections when required to help the team complete the daily schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 Refuse Collection Vehicle (RCV).
- Complete scheduled collections of commercial, general and food waste.
- Assist the Loader with manual handling and loading duties as required.
- Carry out daily vehicle safety inspections and defect reporting.
- Follow planned collection routes while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Ensure compliance with all road transport, health & safety and environmental legislation.
- Complete all relevant paperwork or electronic records accurately.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Min 1 year HGV Class 2 experience
- Previous RCV or waste industry experience is desirable but not essential.
- A positive, team-focused attitude with a willingness to get involved in all aspects of the role.
- Good understanding of driver hours and vehicle safety.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work early morning starts.
