You'll be the first point of contact for our customers, taking bookings by phone and dispatching drivers using our iCabbi booking system. You'll work closely with our driver fleet to keep jobs moving smoothly and make sure customers get where they need to be, on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls and take accurate bookings (pickup/drop-off details, times, special requirements)
- Enter and manage bookings using the iCabbi dispatch platform
- Allocate jobs to available drivers and monitor job progress in real time
- Handle account and pre-booked jobs, including school runs and airport transfers
- Deal with customer queries, amendments and cancellations professionally
- Communicate with drivers via the iCabbi driver app/radio to resolve delays or issues
- Keep accurate records of bookings, fares and any incidents
- Support with general office and admin tasks during quieter periods
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a taxi controller/dispatcher preferred, but full training on iCabbi will be given
- Comfortable using booking/dispatch software and multitasking across multiple screens
- Clear, confident telephone manner
- Calm under pressure, especially during busy periods (weekends, school runs, events)
- Good local knowledge of Newton Abbot, Torquay and surrounding areas an advantage
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a small team
- Basic computer literacy
Shifts
- Weekdays: 16:00 – 00:00
- Friday & Saturday: later finish, approx. 02:00 – 03:00
Pay: From £12.71 per hour

- Newton Abbot TQ12 1TQ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
