JOB PURPOSE
The role of the M.E.T Technician is to:
è Accurately and skilfully undertake the removal and replacement/refitting of components as estimated to enable the safe repair of damaged motor vehicles. Detect and diagnose any additional faults for further repairs.
è Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with retailer, manufacturer and industry guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Carry out all repairs according to best practice procedures. Complete assigned jobs within the estimated repair times. Meet acceptable safety and quality standards.
- Receive vehicle, job card & Quality Control (QC) forms from Workshop Control and confirm accuracy of work order/estimate, taking remedial action if necessary. Ensure that QC form has been completed once strip operation has been completed and Senior Technician has countersigned when applicable
- Report accurately and correctly all components, materials, consumables and hours used on each vehicle repair, keeping wastage of all material and consumables to a minimum. Keep work area clean, tidy and free from hazards.
- Observe, recognise and report on vehicle bodywork/paintwork. Report on the job card any/all faults or defects detected while working on the vehicle. Report any additional damage found when preparing the vehicle.
- Interpret and implement technical instruction data.
- Check the condition and ensure the correct maintenance of tools, equipment and other materials.
- Safeguard the customer vehicle and its contents while in the workshop.
- Seek clarification in the event a work order is unclear or seems incorrect.
- Undertake all other tasks and activities as requested by the Bodyshop Manager.
- Work to support other team members in achievement of their objectives when asked to do so or required by their manager.

- City and Guilds qualification or NVQ equivalent
- Competency in numeracy and literacy.
- Good organisational and planning skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Smart appearance.
