The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Bricklayer to join our team. This is a hands-on role working across a variety of residential building projects throughout Surrey, including extensions, renovations and new-build elements.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can produce consistently high-quality brickwork and is happy to work independently as well as alongside the wider Yates Build team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out all aspects of bricklaying and blockwork to a high standard
- Face brickwork, cavity walls, extensions and structural alterations
- Setting out and working accurately from drawings and specifications
- Installing insulation, DPCs, lintels and associated components
- Carrying out alterations and making good to existing brickwork
- Supporting wider building and general site works where required
- Working independently and as part of a wider construction team
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Liaising effectively with site management, other trades and, where necessary, clients
- Ensuring work is completed efficiently while maintaining Yates Build's quality standards
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years' site experience in bricklaying
- Strong experience in residential extensions and refurbishment projects
- High standard of face brickwork and attention to detail
- Ability to read drawings and set out work accurately
- Full UK driving licence
- Own van and full set of tools essential
- Reliable, punctual and able to manage your own workload
- Positive, proactive attitude and strong work ethic
- Willingness to get involved in other aspects of building work where required
- Ideally based within 10 miles of Chobham, Surrey
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- Previous experience supervising labourers or other trades would be advantageous
