Job Title: Support Worker
Location: Plumstead and Abbey Wood
Salary: £11.44-£14 per hour
Working Hours: Full-time, including shift patterns of 7:30 pm to 8:00 am and 7:30 am to 8:00 pm, as well as evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Job Summary: We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in our residential home. The role involves ensuring the physical, emotional, and social well-being of the children, fostering a safe and nurturing environment, and supporting their development and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily routines including meals, personal hygiene, and bedtime.
- Support children with their educational needs, including homework and school-related activities.
- Engage children in recreational and developmental activities.
- Build positive relationships with children, offering emotional and social support.
- Provide a listening ear and counsel children experiencing difficulties or challenges.
- Promote and support children's self-esteem and resilience.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment by adhering to health and safety policies.
- Administer first aid and medication as required.
- Report and document any incidents, accidents, or concerns promptly.
- Maintain open and effective communication with children, families, and team members.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings, training sessions, and reviews.
- Record and report on children's progress and any issues that arise.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Stay informed about best practices in child care and support.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Relevant qualifications in child care, social work, or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care).
- Experience working with children and young people in a residential or similar setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Understanding of child protection and safeguarding principles.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience.
