Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teaching assistant to support teaching and learning in a school setting in London. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to provide classroom support, help pupils achieve their learning goals, and contribute to a positive and inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils, including those with additional learning needs.
- Assist in preparing classroom materials and resources.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
- Support pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Supervise pupils during break times, trips, and extracurricular activities.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times
Requirements & Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting (preferred).
- Relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent).
- A good standard of English and maths (GCSE or equivalent).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for education.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable Skills
- Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
- First aid training.
- Experience in primary or secondary school settings
