The Test Engineer; plans, oversees, and documents the development and qualification testing of temperature-controlled packaging systems to support CSafe’s new product development, commercial needs, and ongoing product portfolio lifecycle management.
Main Duties and Responsibilities

Plans, oversees, and documents the construction and testing of thermal containers (Active & Passive), packaging, parcels and cooling media and other supporting packaging materials.

Verifies materials and test samples to be used in thermal and distribution qualification testing.

Assists in the development of Design Qualification (DQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ) testing protocols, test plans and procedures to meet customer and industry validation requirements.

Compiles and reviews test data upon completion of testing and performs technical analysis.

Drafts and compiles technical content, data and graphics for inclusion in the qualification test report, packaging instructions and precondition studied.

Provide feedback and updates to the Engineering lead, Technical Manager, Product Manager, and Commercial lead regarding test status, results and updates throughout the testing and evaluation process.

Oversee and scheduled equipment maintenance, calibration, and validation testing per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI) to ensure compliance.

Oversee the technical and laboratory workplace to be of a high level of organization, cleanliness and order using a “5S Methodology”’.

Select, validate, plan, and oversee external testing services at approved third party Test Laboratories for distribution testing and thermal testing when required. This includes material assembly, preconditioning, delivery, and return/inspection of test materials.

Utilize CAD cutting table and other assembly tools to produce test samples, commercial samples, and prototypes as needed.

The ability to perform thermal calculations, analysis and computer simulation of packaging products and cooling media would be an advantage.

Experience

Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

Strong technical writing skills including generation of protocol, reports, memos, and other documents as needed.

Organizational skills; able to meet deadlines.

Knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite of programs. Must be proficient user of Microsoft Word & Excel.

Familiarity with CAD software (Solidworks) and testing guidelines (ISTA, ASTM, IATA) a plus.

Ability to create, read and understand technical drawings, test standards and test protocols.

Must possess analytical thinking and reasoning skills.

Education
-
Desired bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Thermal, Packaging Engineering or related field.
-
5 years’ experience will be preferable.
