As a Sexual Health and Reproductive Health Nurse Practitioner, you will operate independently within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. This role is crucial in supporting vulnerable and hard-to-reach populations, particularly young people under 25, to make informed decisions regarding their sexual health and contraception. You will provide a comprehensive range of sexual and reproductive health services, integrating clinical expertise with health promotion, safeguarding, and collaborative partnership efforts.

Deliver comprehensive sexual health and contraceptive services in clinic and community settings.

Provide tailored support to vulnerable and hard-to-reach individuals, including young people.

Prescribe, supply, and administer various contraceptives, including:

Combined oral contraception
-
Emergency contraception
-
Contraceptive patches
-
Subdermal implants
-
Depot injections
-
IUD/IUS fittings
-
Conduct STI screening, diagnosis, and treatment.

Provide pregnancy testing and referrals to appropriate services.

Deliver opportunistic cervical screening and health promotion advice (e.g., safer sex).

Manage a caseload, ensuring appropriate follow-up care and treatment.

Use brief intervention techniques to support behavioural change and informed decision-making.

Collaborate with partner agencies to improve access and continuity of care.

Undertake clinical procedures such as venepuncture, immunizations, and medication administration under PGDs/PSDs or as a prescriber.

Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are met, particularly for under-16s and vulnerable individuals.

Maintain accurate, timely clinical records and contribute to service quality and continuous improvement.

Proven experience in sexual and reproductive health services.

Experience supporting vulnerable and/or hard-to-reach populations.

Ability to work independently and manage a clinical caseload.

Experience in contraception methods, STI management, and health promotion.

Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience in clinical risk assessment.
