Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience
- Greet and engage guests in a friendly, professional manner.
- Guide customers through beer selections based on their preferences.
- Conduct tastings and explain beer styles, flavor profiles, ingredients, and brewing methods.
- Answer questions about the brewery, products, and events.
Beer Knowledge & Education
- Maintain expert knowledge of all beers on tap and packaged offerings.
- Educate guests on seasonal releases, limited editions, and food pairings.
- Stay informed about industry trends, beer styles, and brewing techniques.
- Assist with brewery tours and educational events when required.
- Take care of all things cellar related. Inlcuding Casks and Kegs.
Sales & Service
- Promote beer sales, merchandise, and special events.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately.
- Process transactions and maintain cash-handling procedures.
- Support achievement of Tapyard sales goals.
Taproom Operations
- Pour and serve beer according to company quality standards.
- Monitor product quality and report any issues.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, tap lines, glassware, and guest areas.
- Assist with opening, closing, stocking, and inventory tasks.
Compliance & Safety
- Verify guest age and follow all licensing regulations.
- Practice responsible alcohol service.
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong passion for craft beer and brewing.
- Previous hospitality, bar, retail, or customer service experience essential.
- Knowledge of beer styles, ingredients, and brewing processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift kegs, cases, or supplies as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cicerone® Certified Beer Server or equivalent beer certification.
- Experience working in a brewery taproom or craft beverage environment.
- Event hosting or tour guide experience.
- Personal License.
