Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Care Assistant to provide personalised support to a gentleman within his own home in Grantham (NG31 9AX). This role involves supporting an individual with a spinal injury and complex care needs, assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety at all times. The ideal candidate will have experience in complex care, a caring attitude, and the ability to adapt to the individual’s needs. Duties
Assisting with all aspects of personal care and daily living.
Supporting mobility and all transfers using a hoist, ensuring safety at all times.
Providing clinical care including catheter care, bladder washout, and manual evacuation.
Monitoring health and wellbeing, recognising and responding to any changes in condition.
Preparing meals and assisting with nutrition as required.
Providing companionship and emotional support.
Supporting access to the community and activities, including outings and football-related interests.
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised home environment.
Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any concerns.
Communicating effectively with the individual, family members, and healthcare professionals.
Experience
Previous experience with Spinal injury and bowel and catheter care is essential.
Knowledge of spinal injury care, catheter care, and bowel management.
Understanding of Autonomic Dysreflexia (AD) is required.
Experience using hoists and safe moving and handling techniques.
Proficiency in English for effective communication.
Basic IT skills for documentation and reporting.
Strong communication skills, empathy, patience, and reliability are essential qualities for this role.
