CaterCater are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic School Cook to join the team at our Production Kitchen in Hempsted, Gloucetser.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys cooking fresh, healthy meals, works well with others, and is looking for a great work-life balance around family life.
Working Hours are:
Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 1:30pm Term time only
What you’ll be doing:
- Help with running the day-to-day production kitchen operation
- Preparing tasty, nutritious meals for all our schools
- Ordering stock and managing deliveries
- Using the ParentPay system to manage meal numbers
- Keeping the kitchen organised, clean and running smoothly
- Managing food, stock and labour costs responsibly
- Ensuring high standards of food hygiene, health & safety and allergen awareness are maintained at all times
- Supporting and encouraging the kitchen team in a positive way
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience as a cook, ideally within a school or busy kitchen environment
- Someone who enjoys cooking and takes pride in preparing good food
- A positive, reliable and approachable person
- Confident in working in a busy kitchen
- Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety along with allergies
- Someone who is organised and can manage responsibilities well
- Access to your own transport (sometimes required)
- Valid right to work in the UK
