Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Hand to join our Boarding Kennels on a casual part-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional animal care, maintaining a clean and safe environment. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in animal welfare and customer service within a professional setting. The position is paid but volunteer's welcome and suitable for individuals passionate about working with Dogs and Cats.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily care and cleaning of animals, including feeding, watering, and administering medication as directed
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, and surrounding facilities to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Monitor animals’ behaviour and health, reporting any concerns to the Business Owner promptly
- Exercising dogs in a Professional manner with understandable knowledge of breed traits
- Provide excellent customer service to pet owners, answering questions and offering advice when appropriate
- Able to help maintaince around the Kennel and Cattery areas
- Handle heavy lifting tasks such as moving supplies
- Ensure health and safety protocols are followed at all times to create a safe environment for staff, clients, and animals
Qualifications
- Previous animal care background is highly desirable
- Genuine passion for animal welfare and well-being
- Confident around large breed dogs
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional manner
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Organised with good attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
- Capable of working independently and part of a team when required

Pay: £8.00-£12.71 per hour
