Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable School Catering Assistant and Delivery Driver to join our team. This role involves delivering and serving nutritious meals to schools, ensuring timely and efficient service. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivery driving, possess excellent communication skills, and be capable of handling physical tasks such as heavy lifting. A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record are essential to ensure safe and smooth operations.
Duties
- Collect prepared meals from the catering kitchen and organise deliveries according to schedules
- Safely drive company vehicles to deliver meals to various school locations within the designated area
- Ensure all deliveries are made punctually, maintaining high standards of customer service
- Assist with the loading and unloading of food supplies, including heavy items, requiring physical strength and organisation
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the vehicle and delivery equipment at all times
- Communicate effectively with school staff regarding delivery times or any issues that may arise during transport
- Support catering staff with food preparation or other organisational tasks as required
- Serve at one of our school locations
- Wash up and clean all service areas
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably within a commercial or warehouse environment
- Valid UK driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong organisational skills for managing delivery schedules and routes
- Excellent communication skills to liaise professionally with school staff and team members
- Experience in warehouse operations or food service is advantageous but not essential
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision

10:30am-2:30pm
You will be asked to start at 9:30am when we have extra deliveries, these can be random but notice will be given
Pay: £12.71 per hour
