We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Support Worker to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals in their own homes. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration in accordance with care plans and ensure proper documentation
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
- Support patients with mobility challenges, including heavy lifting and transfer assistance when necessary
- Manage behavioral challenges with patience and effective behavior management techniques
- Offer specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other cognitive impairments
- Drive clients to appointments, errands, or social activities safely and responsibly
- Monitor health status, report changes promptly, and coordinate with healthcare professionals as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care environments
- Knowledge of patient care practices including dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, and senior care
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physical tasks involved in caregiving
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for transportation duties
- Certification or training in first aid and CPR preferred
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on compassion and patience
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends as required
