Job Overview
We are seeking a professional PCV Bus Driver to operate private school contracts, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, mechanical knowledge, and excellent communication abilities. Responsibilities
- Safely operate the bus on designated routes for private school contracts, ensuring punctuality and adherence to schedules.
- Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle before and after shifts, including checks on mechanical systems and safety equipment.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks such as fluid level checks, tyre pressure assessments, and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Communicate effectively with school staff, students, and colleagues regarding schedules or any operational concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and vehicle inspections in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure passenger safety at all times by enforcing safety rules and providing assistance as needed during boarding and alighting.
- Comply with all traffic regulations and company policies to uphold safety standards at all times.
Requirements
- Valid PCV (Public Carriage Vehicle - Category D) licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge of buses or similar vehicles is advantageous for routine maintenance tasks.
- Strong communication skills in English to liaise effectively with clients, colleagues, and school personnel.
- Experience in driving passenger vehicles safely over various routes and conditions.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures to identify potential issues early.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage schedules efficiently.
- A responsible attitude towards safety protocols and passenger care is essential.
Pay: £12.71-£20.40 per hour
