Job Purpose
To carry out high-quality repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment works across void and tenanted properties, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out responsive and planned maintenance works in both void and occupied properties.
- Complete a wide range of repairs including carpentry, plumbing, tiling, plastering, painting and decorating, basic brickwork, and general building maintenance.
- Prepare void properties to a lettable standard within agreed timescales.
- Diagnose faults and determine the most effective repair solution.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety legislation, company policies, and industry standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and tidy work environment, leaving properties in a satisfactory condition after each visit.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with tenants, colleagues, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Accurately complete job sheets
- Identify and report any additional repairs, safeguarding concerns, or health and safety issues encountered during works.
- Manage materials, tools, and equipment efficiently, ensuring stock levels are maintained and company assets are cared for.
- Participate in emergency call-out or out-of-hours services where required.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Proven experience as a Multi-Trade Operative within social housing, local authority, or property maintenance.
- Competent in multiple trades, including:
- Carpentry
- Plumbing
- Plastering repairs
- Tiling
- Painting & Decorating
- General building maintenance
- Experience working in both void and tenanted properties.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Relevant NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds qualification in a recognised trade.
- Experience within social housing maintenance contracts.
- Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling, Working at Height, or other relevant certifications.
- Ability to use handheld technology for job management.

Salary
Rate of pay: Competitive rates of pay are available and will be discussed at interview, based on experience, qualifications, and skill level.
Pay: From £400.00 per day
