Group Accountant
Help Build the Finance Function Behind a Growing International Business
BGB Group is a rapidly expanding offshore wind business operating globally across the UK, US, Poland and Taiwan.
As our business continues to grow internationally, we're investing heavily in strengthening our Finance Team and are looking for a qualified Group Accountant to support the development of our accounting function.
Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the financial integrity of our international group, maintaining clean, accurate financial records while helping build the accounting processes required to support future expansion.
The Role
This position focuses on delivering accurate, reliable financial information across our growing international group.
Your responsibilities will include:
Financial Control
- Managing accruals and prepayments
- Posting and reviewing month-end journals
- Maintaining fixed asset registers
- Processing depreciation journals
- Reconciling intercompany balances
- Reviewing transactional accuracy across multiple international entities
Balance Sheet Management
You'll take ownership of the Group's monthly balance sheet reconciliation process by:
- Completing monthly reconciliations
- Investigating reconciling items
- Performing bank reconciliations
- Resolving legacy accounting issues
- Ensuring clean, audit-ready financial records
Month-End Close
Working closely with the Group Financial Controller you'll:
- Deliver reconciled trial balances
- Support Group reporting
- Prepare working papers for auditors
- Ensure consistent application of accounting policies
- Assist with financial due diligence
Supporting Growth
As BGB continues expanding internationally you'll also:
- Help onboard new legal entities
- Develop accounting processes and controls
- Standardise coding structures
- Improve financial reporting consistency across the Group
Collaboration
You'll work alongside the Project Accountant, local finance teams and international colleagues to maintain financial accuracy while also supporting the development of an Accounting Apprentice.
About You
You'll be a qualified accountant who enjoys improving processes and maintaining high standards of financial control.
We're looking for someone with:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
- Strong experience in financial accounting
- Month-end experience
- Balance sheet reconciliation expertise
- Experience managing accruals, prepayments and journals
- Multi-entity accounting experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
Experience within offshore wind, renewables, engineering, construction or other project-based industries would be advantageous, along with exposure to multi-currency accounting, audit support or group structures.
