Hours: 28 hours over any 4 days, but must include Friday
Salary: £23,194 - £25,596 for 28 hours which equates to £29,000 – £32,000 (FTE) Possibly more for an exceptional candidate

Stick ‘n’ Step provide conductive education sessions to children with cerebral palsy. Our support improves mobility, independence and boosts self-confidence, enabling each child to reach their personal potential.

Stick ‘n’ Step provide vital support to over 120 children and their families from our centres in Wallasey and Runcorn. Our Runcorn centre opened in the summer of 2017 enabling us to reach out to more families across the North West of England. This is an exciting time to join Stick ‘n’ Step with it being our 25th birthday in the summer of 2027. Planning has already started for a gala ball to celebrate our successes. We are looking for someone who has the passion and motivation to contribute to our dynamic organisation.
Job Purpose
Stick ‘n’ Step have a range of established relationships with local, regional and national trusts and foundations and we are now looking for somebody with the skills and experience to research and ‘hunt out’ new funding opportunities. The charity can clearly and powerfully demonstrate its impact, and it will be your job to present this to funders in a clear and appealing way.
You will be expected to plan and manage a pipeline of applications ensuring we meet eligibility criteria and relevant deadlines.
You will also be required to prepare comprehensive evaluation reports at the end of each grant period.
Reporting to the CEO, you’ll see the tangible difference that your successful applications make to the lives of the children, young people and families that we support.
Key responsibilities
1. Income generation
- Achieve or exceed agreed income targets through tailored fundraising proposals to grant making trusts, matching donor interests with Stick ‘n’ Step’s work.
- Prepare clear, compelling and engaging written applications, reports and thank you letters.
- Ensure that records and reports are accurate and up to date.
- Support the stewardship of donors; maximising opportunities for project visits where appropriate
2. Wider organisation
- Work closely with the rest of the fundraising team to maximise income generation and PR opportunities and ensure all fundraising practice is effective, efficient and professional.
- Liaise with members of the classroom team to research and identify impact stories, case studies, images and videos – to include in our fundraising applications, appeals and materials.
3. General
- Ensure that all fundraising activities comply with current and relevant legislation and follow best practice principles.
- Maintain contact data on our CRM system (Donorfy).
- Support all major events as required.
- Contribute to the teams overall and ongoing planning and development.
- Undertake any other reasonable activity in line with the responsibilities of the post as requested by the Chief Executive, Trustees or any other staff.
Special Conditions:
- A DBS check will be made for this post
- Ideally a car owner (or access to a car), although this is not essential
