Pensions Administrator
Salary from £25,758 to £32,000 (subject to experience and relevant qualifications)
25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, and a company pension scheme with highly competitive employer contribution rates

Location: Royal Mail, Pond Street, Sheffield S98 6HR - hybrid working with 4 days in the office
Join our award-winning Pensions Service Centre.
We’re looking for a Pensions Administrator to join our Pensions team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in supporting beneficiaries of the Royal Mail Pension Plan, ensuring pension benefits are calculated accurately and delivered with care, professionalism, and precision.
You’ll be part of a collaborative team, with the flexibility to support across a range of pension services while continuously improving how we deliver for our customers.
About the role
This role will suit someone who has an investigative mindset, excellent attention to detail and an ability to take ownership and ensure SLAs are adhered to.
What you’ll be doing:

Calculating and processing pension benefits for beneficiaries in line with Royal Mail Pension Plan rules

Communicating clearly and sensitively with customers, resolving queries in a timely and professional way

Delivering work to agreed service levels and quality standards

Ensuring compliance with pension legislation and internal service specifications

Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, including PASA Gold Standards

Building strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and colleagues

Providing support across wider Pension Service Centre teams when needed (including Bereavements, Payroll, Activations and more)

Taking ownership of your development to maintain and enhance your technical expertise
What we’re looking for

Experience in pensions or payroll (desirable)

Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail

Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly

A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to quality service

Good organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines

Problem-solving ability and confidence working with data

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

A flexible approach and willingness to support across different service areas

Willingness to work towards a professional pensions qualification
