Specialist Support Worker

About the Role
We are looking for caring, resilient and reliable Support Workers to join our team supporting a 22-year-old gentleman who lives at home with his father.
He has Autism, ADHD, anxiety and depression, and is currently undergoing assessment for schizophrenia. He enjoys cooking, music, spending time in the community and his Christian faith, which is an important part of his life. We are looking for someone who will respect and support his beliefs while encouraging him to live as independently as possible.
This is a rewarding opportunity to build a consistent, trusting relationship and make a real difference to someone's everyday life.
What You'll Do
- Support with daily living skills and promoting independence.
- Encourage cooking, household tasks and personal organisation.
- Support access to the community, appointments, shopping and leisure activities.
- Encourage confidence, wellbeing and positive routines.
- Support attendance at church and faith-based activities if desired.
- Complete daily records and work alongside family and professionals.
- Follow support plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
About You
You'll be:
- Calm, patient and compassionate.
- Emotionally resilient and confident supporting someone with complex needs.
- Able to remain professional during challenging situations, including occasions where behaviours of concern may be displayed.
- Respectful of Christian beliefs.
- A good communicator who enjoys building positive relationships.
Experience supporting Autism, ADHD, mental health or Positive Behaviour Support is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence.
- Access to a vehicle.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
