Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Chef/cook to join our team. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Support senior chefs in food presentation and plating to ensure visual appeal
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including equipment and workstations
- Follow food safety regulations and hygiene standards diligently
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the kitchen by managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Supervise junior kitchen staff when required, providing guidance and support in food production tasks
- Participate in inventory management, including stock rotation and waste reduction
- Support in serving food during peak periods, ensuring timely delivery to guests
- Assist with training new team members as needed, fostering a positive team environment
Experience
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen or restaurant setting is desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety protocols
- Supervising experience or team management skills are advantageous
- Familiarity with food production processes and culinary practices within hospitality environments
- Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Experience in hospitality or serving roles is beneficial but not essential for entry-level applicants
