Old Chain Pier is a stunning gastropub, situated on the banks of the River Forth, serving fresh, locally sourced seafood with spectacular views over the water to Fife.
Having just gone free of tie, we are looking for an experienced front of house professional to usher in the new era of the Old Chain Pier.
You will join a close-knit team of long serving staff, who are passionate about delivering excellent service and ensuring every guest has a truly special experience when they visit. Front of House staff do a mix of floor and bar shifts, so being comfortable in both sections is important.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Customer Service & Guest Interaction: Greeting customers, managing reservations, escorting guests to tables, and handling inquiries or complaints.
- Service Operations: Taking food and beverage orders, delivering items promptly, refilling drinks, and clearing tables.
- Maintenance: Cleaning and organizing the dining area, bar, and restrooms.
- Transactions: Processing payments using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Collaboration: Working with back-of-house staff (kitchen) to ensure timely, accurate service.
- Preparation: Setting up, breaking down, and cleaning for service.
- Cashing & Locking Up: Ensuring all transactions are recorded and banked, and the building is secure at the end of the night.
Wages are hourly and the rate will depend on your experience. Credit card tips are paid weekly on top of your wages, and cash tips are also distributed weekly.
