- OUTSIDE WORKING
- Unloading incoming steel deliveries and putting away steel products in stock locations.
- Ensuring all material is labelled, and identity is maintained throughout the process.
- Picking steel orders and process according to the requirements of ‘Pick Tickets’ and ‘Cutting Dockets’.
- Carrying out all the necessary checks to ensure that the customer order is fulfilled to their requirements.
- Confirming the picking of orders and re-label with customer labels.
- Completing all necessary paperwork according to the Quality System.
- Loading delivery vehicles with customer orders.
- Serving customers who collect their own orders.
- Working within the Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work that apply to the task being carried out.
- Taking reasonable care for the health & safety of yourself and others that may be affected by your acts or omissions.
- Reporting any incidents, which has led or could lead to accident or injury and raise health and safety questions immediately if they occur.
- Co-operating in the investigation of incidents/accidents to enable measures to be taken to prevent recurrences.
Key Skills Required:
- Being numerate and literate.
- Possessing the ability to correctly follow verbal and written instructions.
- Possessing the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in working as a warehouse operative in a steel stockholding environment.
