Role Purpose
This role plays a key role in ensuring Fera’s artisan products reach Orto Pizza and other partners safely, on time, and in perfect condition. The Deliver Driver is responsible for maintaining delivery records, monitoring vehicle and product conditions. This role supports the daily distribution of doughs, breads, pastries, and ingredients, while representing Fera’s commitment to quality, care, and professionalism. Upon completion of deliveries, the storeperson will aid with tasks around the bakery including stock rotation, stock preparation, cleaning and other ad hoc tasks required by the business.
As the final link in the production chain, the Delivery Driver helps protect product integrity and maintain strong relationships between Fera and its sister brands.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Deliveries & Route Management
- Complete daily delivery routes to Orto Pizza and other designated locations.
- Plan delivery route to ensure it is the most time and fuel efficient.
- Ensure all products are loaded, transported, and delivered safely and efficiently.
- Follow delivery schedules set by the Supervisor or Assistant Manager.
- Communicate any delays, issues, or route changes promptly.
2. Product Care & Quality
- Handle all products with care to maintain quality and presentation.
- Ensure temperature‑sensitive items are transported appropriately.
- Report any product issues, shortages, or damages immediately.
3. Vehicle Safety & Maintenance
- Carry out basic vehicle checks before each shift (fuel, tyres, lights, cleanliness).
- Report maintenance needs or safety concerns promptly.
- Keep the delivery vehicle clean, organised, and compliant with hygiene standards.
4. Stock Handling & Documentation
- Assist with loading and unloading products safely and efficiently.
- Check delivery notes, quantities, and order accuracy.
- Ensure all paperwork or digital logs are completed correctly.
5. Customer Service & Brand Representation
- Represent Fera professionally at all delivery points.
- Maintain positive, respectful communication with Orto teams and external partners.
- Uphold Fera’s values in all interactions — quality, care, respect, and craft.
6. Team Support
Assist the bakery team with basic tasks when required (e.g., moving stock, organising crates, preparing simple products).
- Communicate clearly with the Supervisor regarding stock levels, returns, or issues noticed during deliveries.
- Support smooth coordination between production and delivery schedules.
Key Skills & Experience
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Experience in delivery driving or logistics (desirable).
- Good time‑management and route‑planning skills.
- Ability to handle products safely and efficiently.
- Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene (training provided).
